Lorraine R. Gusick, 90, of Pound, passed away Monday, Dec. 3, 2018 at Aurora BayCare Medical Center in Green Bay.
Born April 2, 1928 in Pound, to Fred and Ruth (Krause) Tachick, she resided there most of her life except for a few years spent in Iron Mountain, Mi. She attended White Potato Lake School through eighth grade and graduated from Coleman High School. She married Donald J. Gusick on Sept. 30, 1950 and they operated a dairy farm for a few years before owning a mink ranch.
In 1967, they opened Ace Hardware Store in Pound and built a new store in 1989. She worked alongside her husband operating the store and continued until the last few weeks.
A member of Section Eight Baptist Church, she enjoyed singing in the Church Choir.
She loved fishing and time spent at her son Mitch's fishing and hunting resort in Canada. She enjoyed growing beautiful flowers and looked forward to picking blue berries.
She traveled frequently with her husband to Mexico, where she caught a sailfish and also vacationed several times in Alaska.
She is survived by her husband, Donald; two sons, Mitch (Sharon) Gusick of Canada and Jeff Gusick of Pound and many cousins.
Friends may call at Section Eight Baptist Church in Pound on Friday, Dec. 7 from 10 a.m. until time of the services at 1 p.m. Pastor Kevin Holland will officiate with burial in First Baptist Cemetery in Pound. Hansen Onion Martell Funeral Home of Marinette is assisting the family.
