Oneida Nation Stops Wausaukee; Grabs M&O Top Spot

Wausaukee Falls to Oneida Nation 56-45
The Oneida Nation girls beat Wausaukee 56-45 on Thursday despite 21 points from Madelyn Schlies.
She had 18 points in the second half in an attempt to help the Rangers try to overcome a poor first half in which they scored just 12 points.
However, while Wausaukee had 33 in the second half, Oneida Nation had 36 with four scorers in double figures.
For Wausaukee, Kaeyln Schlies had eight, while Courtney Messar and Stephanie Murray each added on seven.
League Leading Storm
Blows by Bulldogs
Friday wasn't Peshtigo's night, as the Bulldogs fell 46-24 to Kewaunee.
Peshtigo got just eight points in the first half, while Kewaunee had 28. Lianna Baxter had 10 points and Grace Wickman scored eight. No other Bulldog had more than two.
Peshtigo's defense was solid in the second half, but they entered the half in too big of a hole and couldn't get the win. Kewaunee had two players in double figures.
Blue Devils Pull Away From Marines 67-45
Oconto topped Marinette behind strong performances from its two top scorers on Tuesday, 67-45.
In Oconto, Mara Allen and Jenna Hornblad scored a combined 52 points, more than Marinette as a team. Allen had 30 and Hornblad scored 22.
Allen made eight of her nine free throws in the game.
Oconto led 31-20 at the half. Katelyn Kitzinger scored nine in the second half, but Marinette couldn't climb back into the game. She finished with 13, while Mady Sims and Samantha Pieper each had nine and Abby Wingender scored nine.
Florence Beats White Lake
The Florence girls took a resounding win over the White Lake girls Thursday night 84-17.
Leading the way for the Bobcats was Jenna Springer who amassed 22 points while Jordan Springer tacked on 19. Kathleen Selden posted 12 on the night.
Suring Slams Lena
The Suring Eagles came away with a 58-33 conference victory over the visiting Lena Wildcats Thursday night.
Suring was quick to find the lead as they built a 34-12 lead going into the half.
Kyle Steelier led the way for the Eagles with 18 points while Wylee VanBellinger added on 16. Paige Krueger got nine.
Lena was led by Madysen Herald with 10 points and McKenna Portier with six.
Niagara Squeaks By Gillett
The Niagara Badgers took a close win with the Gillett Tigers Thursday night, defeating them 47-45.
Leading the Badgers was Jessica Oratch with 17 points and Jasmine Racine with 10.
Gillett was led by Aubrey DeBauch with 18 points.
Florence Comes Away With Win Over Goodman/Pembine
The Florence Bobcat girls took a nice 74-44 win over the Goodman/Pembine Patriots last Thursday.
Again it was a Spinger who led the way, this time Jordan, who posted 17 points before the end of the match. Cassie Larson posted 15 points while Savannah Vassar got 10.
Florence Continues Strong Week With Win Over STAA
The Florence Bobcats who have been on a winning roll this past week just knocked down another opponent, this time the St. Thomas Aquinas Cavaliers who they handedly defeated 60-33.
Jenna Springer was the leader for Florence with 15 points on the night while Jordan Springer followed up with 14 points. Madison Neuens and Cassie Larson both tacked on eight points each.
Menominee Routs Stephenson With Pressure Defense
Menominee routed Stephenson with a 72-point performance on Thursday, winning 72-39.
The Maroons led the Eagles 23-9 after the first half and won the second quarter 19-12. Leading 42-21, the Maroons doubled down with an impressive 19-5 third quarter. Only in the fourth quarter did the Eagles outscore Menominee, 13-11.
Emma Anderson and Erin Barrette each had 12 points, while Emma and Josie Hofer had 11 apiece. Jenna Nolde scored eight and Arikah Bellisle had five.
Stephenson was led by Emily Johnson, who had 12 in the game.
Truckers Double-Up Marines in NEC Matchup
Marinette couldn't stop the Truckers on Thursday in a 58-28 loss to Clintonville.
The Marines were hanging around at the half, down 22-12, but Clintonville pulled away in the second half.
Katelyn Kitzinger's eight points were a Marine high. Mady Sims had six points and Samantha Pieper scored seven.
The Truckers' Erin Viergutz had 14 to lead all scorers.
Gruszynski Leads Crivitz Past Coleman
Chloe Gruszynski's 25 points led Crivitz to a 58-43 win over Coleman on Thursday.
Her point total was more than triple the next-highest scorer in the game. The Wolverines led 27-21 at the half and put together a good second half to get the 15-point win.
Emalee Johnson had eight for Crivitz, Kieren Gribben scored seven and Morgan VanLanen scored six.
Coleman's Micheala Zeitler scored eight, Cameron Compe had seven, MacKenzie Champagne had six and Hailey Ziemer had six.
Bulldogs Drop Blazers on the Road 45-37
For a team struggling to some extent on the offensive end, defense becomes even more important. That was on display for Peshtigo on Tuesday, as it beat NEW Lutheran 45-37.
Peshtigo scored 27 points in the second half, with Lianna Baxter again leading the way. She scored 15 of her 21 in the second half to lead Peshtigo to the win.
Gabby Perry has emerged as a second scoring option for the Bulldogs and she was again on Tuesday, scoring 12 points. 10 of those came in the first half, in which Peshtigo had just 18 as a team. Sidney Gullicksen had five second-half points, Allison Dudka had four and Grace Wickman had three total points.
