Melvin A. Shepherd, 58, of Athelstane, passed away unexpectedly Saturday, Jan. 5, 2019 at his home.
Born May 29, 1960 in Stambaugh City, Mi., to Charles and Molly Jane Shepherd, he married Judy Bisick on July 12, 1998 in Milwaukee and worked at Goodman Lumber Co. and recently at NWTC in Crivitz as a Janitor.
He loved attending deaf clubs for the hearing impaired, working with his hands, camping and fishing and he could fix anything. He was known for being a prankster and had a passion for animals, but mostly enjoyed time with his family and friends.
He is survived by his wife, Judy; two children, Alana (Michael) Carroll and Lucas Shepherd; a grandchild; his father Charles; three brothers, Charles (Ella) II, Mark (Bindu) and Jim Shepherd and sisters and brothers-in-law, Glen (Diane), Tom (Diane), Tim (Kay), Mark, Bill (Debbie), Dave (Linda) and Mary, all Bisick and Tina (Rodney) Wright and Pat Jobelius.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Molly Jane; two uncles, Thomas Hilden and Elbert Ray; a cousin, Speedy and two brother-in-laws, John Bisick and Rick Jobelius.
Family and friends may visit at Roubal Funeral Home on Tuesday, Jan. 15 from noon until the time of the Memorial Service at 2 p.m.
