Alex J Dudka, 88, of Peshtigo, passed away Friday, Jan. 4 2019 at Rennes Health Care Center-East in Peshtigo.
Born July 19 1930, to the late Martin and Rose (Swiake) Dudka, he served in the United States Air Force during the Korean War. He married the former Marilyn Schwartz on May 21, 1955 at St Mary Church in Crivitz and she preceded him in death on Nov. 19 2012. He retired from Badger Paper Mill where he worked as electrical and instrumentation tech.
As an avid outdoorsmen, he loved hunting, fishing, gardening, woodworking, bowling and socializing with his neighbors. He was known locally for playing softball until age 80 and horseshoes until age 85, but especially enjoyed time with his grandchildren.
He is survived by four sons, Dan ("'Dudley") Dudka, Tim (fiance, Chris) Dudka, Dale (Sheila) Dudka and Dean (Dawn) Dudka; two daughters, Brenda (Pete) Wergedal and Jo Ann (Steve) Rott; 10 grandchildren and a sister-in-law, Carol Schwartz Kobus.
Along with his wife,Marilyn, he was preceded in death by four brothers and four sisters.
Visitation was held Monday, Jan. 7 at St. Mary Catholic Church in Peshtigo from 3 p.m. until time of a Funeral Mass at 6 p.m. Fr. Jess Berdol officiated followed by Military Honors at the Church. Berth and Rosenthal Funeral Home of Peshtigo assisted the family with arrangements.
