Donald George Graef, 85, previously of Lena, passed away, Thursday, Jan. 31, 2019 at Oconto Falls Atrium.
Born June 30, 1933 in Lena, to the late Philip and Ernestine Graef, he graduated from Lena High School in 1951 and married Jean Carol (Van Dreel) on May 2, 1953. He worked at Unit Structures in Peshtigo until he was drafted into the Army in 1953. He returned to Lena to take over the family farm, where he owned and operated a milk route for 12 years and was a field representative for Frigo Cheese for over 18 years.
He loved to travel with his wife and friends and traveled all of the Continental United States and Canada. He enjoyed Polka Music, Polka dancing, fishing and time at his cabin on Lake Noquebay, but especially time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Jean; four sons, Gary, Dennis (Lori), Bruce and Tom (Laurie) Graef; three daughters, Brenda (Jeff) Sellen, Mary Jo (Glen) Meyer and Jo Ann (Randy) Lierman; 19 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren; four sisters, Marie Marquardt, Pat Perron, Margaret LeFebre and Jeanette (Larry) Dabb and many nieces and nephews.
Among his parents, he was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Carol Graef; an infant grandson, Steven Graef; three brothers, Bernard, Philip and infant brother, James Graef and a sister, Claire Mae.
The family greeted relatives and friends at Rhodes Charapata Funeral Home in Lena on Monday, Feb. 4 from 4 p.m. until time of the Wake Service will be at 7 p.m., with Deacon Peter Gard officiating. Visitation continued on Tuesday, Feb. 5 at St. Annes Church in Lena from 9 a.m. until time of the service at 11a.m. Fr. Joel Sember officiated with burial in Pine Hill Cemetery in Spruce.
