THE CITY REBORN FROM THE ASHES OF AMERICA'S MOST DISASTROUS FOREST FIRE
Ann R. Foley
Issue Date: February 14, 2019
Ann Rita Foley, 86, of Green Bay, passed away Sunday, Feb. 10, 2019 at St. Vincent Hospital in Green Bay.
Born Aug. 6, 1932 in Oconto, to the late Charles and Eleanor (VanRossom) Foley, after high school, she modeled in Chicago and then moved to Green Bay to attend secretarial school. She had a beautiful singing voice and recorded a record.
Family meant everything to her and she was happiest when spending time with her children and grandchildren, especially lunches and shopping. She loved chocolate and animals.
With a generous giving heart, she moved back to her childhood home to take care of her aging mother. While she was in the nursing home she took care of the people at her dining table, making sure they had everything they needed for their meal. Popular with the nursing staff, on their day off, they would sometimes bring their children in to visit her. She had a sense of humor and could make anyone laugh.
She is survived by four daughters, Eileen (Steve) Fritsch, Lori (Terry) Wheeler, Bonnie Lutzow and Rosanne (Mark) Hall; two sons, Mark (Kari) Blaser and Karl (Judy Derks) Blaser; 10 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by three brothers; two sisters; a grandchild and a great-grandchild.
The family will receive relatives and friends at Gallagher Funeral Home in Oconto, from 2 p.m. until time of the funeral services at 3 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 15, with Fr. Dave Schmidt officiating. A memorial fund was established.
