Roger Gene Wickman, 71, of Wausaukee, passed away Wednesday, Feb. 27, 2019 at home.
Born Sept. 27, 1947 in Menominee, Mi., to the late Herbert and Beatryce (Malmstadt) Wickman, he entered the United States Army in September 1965 and his first tour of duty was at Herzogenarach, Germany for 18 months and he then served in Vietnam. He was awarded an honorary discharge in Sept, 1971.
After service, he had a career with New England Telephone/Nynex and retired after 28 years in the telecommunications industry in 1997.
He is survived by three children, Amy (Ken) Donahue and Dana Wickman, both of New Hampshire and Kristen Wickman of Florida; five grandchildren; five brothers, Ken, David, Mike, Bob and Steve Wickman; a sister; Mari Wickman and many nieces and nephews.
Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Anne (Comtois) Wickman and two brothers, Gayne and Patrick "Rick' Wickman.
Memorial visitation will be held at Hanson Onion Martell Funeral Home in Marinette on Sunday, March from 3 p.m. until time of an Honor Ceremony provided by the Military 20 Year Club at 5 p.m. Celebrations of Life will be held in New Hampshire and Wisconsin in Summer.
