Joyce (Prefontaine) Steinbrecher, 83, of Marinette passed away Monday, March 4, 2019 at home, surrounded by family.
Born Aug. 14, 1935 in Marinette, to Albert Prefontaine and Aurelia (Friend) Prefontaine, she married Wayne Steinbrecher on Aug. 17, 1953 and worked alongside her husband at Steinbrecher Insurance in Peshtigo until 1983. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.
Survivors include her husband of 65 years, Wayne; three children, Debby Knutson of Marinette, Dean (Poppy) Steinbrecher of Kimberly and Lori Steinbrecher Punko of Holualoa, Hi.; six grandchildren; four extended grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; four extended great-grandchildren; a sister, Betty Reiswitz of Marinette and a brother, John Prefontaine of Slinger.
Amongst her parents, she was preceded in death by three sisters, Luella Baxter, Bernice Gromala and baby sister, Agnes; four brothers, Armedos (Sonny), Peter, Frederick and James and a nephew, Gregg Steinbrecher.
Friends may call at Hansen Onion Martell Funeral Home in Marinette on Friday, March 8 from 4 p.m. to 7:30 p.m., with a Vigil Prayer Service at 7 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be held at Holy Family Parish, Our Lady of Lourdes Church, Taylor St. in Marinette on Saturday, March 9 at 11 a.m. Rev. Celestine Byekwaso will officiate and burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery.
