Ron "Brushy" Dembroski, 77, of Lena, passed away Friday, March 8, 2019.
Born March 6, 1942, to the late Joseph and Anna (Cook) Dembroski, he graduated from Lena High School and married his grade school sweetheart, Judy Carriveau on Dec. 30, 1961 at St. Charles Church in Lena. He worked as an electrician and refrigeration specialist and served with the 32nd Red Arrow Division of the United States Army National Guard.
He loved the outdoors, especially fishing and hunting with his buddies and always had stories to tell. He also enjoyed making syrup in the back 40 and playing Cribbage, with many matches held at home and at family gatherings, usually with him winning. He also coached many St. Charles Trojans games. Family and friends meant the world to him and he especially loved attending his grandchildren's activities.
He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Judy; two children, Todd (Heather), Ashwaubenon and Terry (Kimi), Colorado Springs, Co.; four grandchildren; five brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Ruth Nemetz, Ken Carriveau, Janet (Brad) Glime, Richard (Pam) Carriveau and Debra Watson and many nieces; nephews; cousins and friends.
Among his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother and sister-in-law, Richard and Dorothy Dembroski; in-laws, Walter and Grace Carriveau and brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Edward Nemetz and Roger and Audrey Carriveau.
The family will greet relatives and friends at Rhodes Charapata Funeral Home, 438 W. Main St., Lena on Wednesday, March 13 from 4 p.m. until time of a Wake Service at 7 p.m. Visitation will continue Thursday, March 14 at St. Anne Catholic Church in Lena from 9 a.m. until time of a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. Fr. Joel Sember will officiate and burial will be in St. Charles Catholic Cemetery in Lena.
