Eugene Russell "Gene" Hudson, 74, of De Pere, passed away Friday, March 8, 2019.
He was born Dec. 15, 1944 in Green Bay at St. Mary's Hospital and graduated from Gillett High School, where he was a successful athlete. After graduation, he served in the United States Army in Germany. He worked in the paper industry and retired to care for his wife, Carol.
As an avid outdoorsman, he enjoyed hunting and fishing of whatever was in season. He also enjoyed playing softball in his younger years and watching it when he was older. He had the first 300 game at Village Lanes.
He is survived by two sons, Troy (Sue) and Terry (Teresa); six grandchildren; four great-grandchildren and is also survived by, Shelby (Don), Deloris, Cathy and Mary and other extended family members.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Carol and relatives, Dorothy, George, Ivan, Gary, Helen, Gordon, Betty Lou, Russell and Oscar and other extended family.
Family and friends may visit at Ryan Funeral Home, 305 N. Tenth Street, De Pere on Wednesday, March 13 from 4 p.m. until time of a short Prayer Service at 7 p.m., followed by Military Honors. Entombment will take place at Allouez Catholic Cemetery and Mausoleum.
