Elaine Katherine (Schoen) Lacasse, 96, passed away Friday, March 29, 2019 at Renaissance Assisted Living in Marinette.
Born March 31, 1923 in Wilson, Mi. to Edwin and Melvina Bellefeuil Schoen, on April 26, 1942, she married Edmer Lacasse, former Superintendent of the Stephenson Area Public Schools.
A devoted wife and mother to five children, her life was full as she loved and served others. Anyone who came to her door was welcomed, hugged and offered a treat from her kitchen. She loved her family and friends here and gone and was a gentle person to all. She enjoyed homemaking and was a life-long dedicated member of Precious Blood Parish Catholic community.
With a strong faith, she was active in the Precious Blood St. Anne's Society, was a catechist, Eucharistic minister, hospitality greeter and served the homebound.
She enjoyed many Marygrove religious retreats, was a talented seamstress and worked at Stephenson High School as a home economics sewing instructor under Gretna Menor.
A member of the Ladies Home Extension and the American Legion Ladies Auxiliary, she was a good cook, baker and enjoyed doing arts and crafts with her friends.
She is survived by five children, Neil (Eleanor) Lacasse, Patricia (Ron) Ascenzo, Richard Lacasse (Janice), Mary (Dave) Voyles and Barbara (Patrick) Meter; 10 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Donations may be made to the Mid-County Rescue Squad and Precious Blood Catholic Church.
Visitation was held at the Precious Blood Catholic Church on Wednesday, April 3 from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m., followed by a Mass and a luncheon. Burial was in Stephenson Township Cemetery. Anderson Diehm Funeral Home of Stephenson is assisting the family with arrangements.
