Clare Marie (Perry) Helnik, 95, passed away Wednesday, March 27, 2019.
Born May 28, 1923 in Oconto Falls, to Clarence and Julia Perry, she married Walter (Wally) Helnik on Oct. 1, 1948 and they were together for 62 years until his passing on Dec. 25, 2010.
She had a great smile, loved all animals and appreciated the beauty of the northwoods. She enjoyed crafting, gardening and loved cooking. With a strong work ethic, the couple ran the Golden West in Pound for almost 20 years until retiring to Shay Lake in 1995.
Survivors include two daughters, Linda (David) Axtell and Marsha (John) Fuchs; three grandchildren; a sister, Kris (Michael) Eckes and three nephews.
Including her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Walter and two sons, James and Michael.
Visitation for friends and family will be held at St. Anne Catholic Church in Coleman on Friday, April 5 from 10 a.m. until time of a Memorial Service at 11 a.m. Memorials can be made to the Alzheimer's Association. Rhodes Charapata Funeral Home of Coleman is assisting the family with arrangements.
