Card Parties Benefit Wagner Fire Department

Issue Date: April 11, 2019

The last card party of the series to benefit the Wagner Fire Department was held March 31 put on by the Kountry Kids 4H, Golden Opportunity 4H and Wagner Fire Department Cadets, with assistance from fire department and community members. 

Weekly winner for adult 50 was Elsie Pritchard and Kids 50 was Sierra OMary. In Smear, men's winner was Ed Delfosse, and ladies winner was Toni Vieth. Pinochle winners were mens, Frank Suennen and ladies, Vicki Lempke. 

Series winners for adult 50 was Josh Brunette, kids 50 winner was Sierra OMary. Smear mens winner was Ed Delfosse, and ladies winner was Toni Vieth. Pinochle men's winner was Frank Suennen and ladies was Nancy Meyers. 

Those who helped from Kountry Kids 4H were Suzie Rozivka, Sierra OMary, Luke Nelson, Anne Biernasz, Emma Gerue, Gwyn Pristel, Kari LaCount and Heather Schramm. Golden Opportunity family members who helped were Ember and Rick Rickaby, Callum Rickaby, Donald Jeske, Rebekah and Julie Retza, and Jennifer Fronsee.  Wagner Fire Department Cadets were assisted by Prestin and Josh Brunette, Mike and Lynda Caylor and Tom Arthur.  

Food for the final party was donated by Stacy Sturmer, Ryan Suennen, Heather Schramm, Sierra OMary, Doris Haulotte, Ember and Rick Rickaby and Julie Retza. 

Silent auction items were bread, donated by Rozivka family, purchased by Mike Caylor, cupcakes donated by Lynda Caylor, bought by Ember Rickaby, chocolate chip pizza donated by Olivia Schramm, bought by Josh Brunette, peanut butter eggs donated by Ember Rickaby, bought by Jennifer Fronsee, and bunny cake, donated by Ryan Suennen and Stacy Sturmer, bought by Lynn Sturmer.

Door prizes were donated by Ember Rickaby, Marlys Limberg, Frank Suennen, Taylor, Callum and Austin Rickaby, the Hemstock family, Wagner Fire Department Cadets, Kountry Kids 4H, Lynda Caylor, Bob Biernasz, Saz's Pub, Fronsee family, Doris and Gerry Haulotte and the Wenzle family. 

In children's prizes, Callum Rickaby donated a divided lunch box won by Rebekah Retza. Rebekah also won  a bag of candy and Wagner T-shirt.  Wagner Fire Department Cadets donated bogs of candy won by Luke Nelson and Callum Rickaby. A Frisbee donated by Frank Suennen was won by Rebekah Retza, hot chocolate set from the Hemstock family was won by Callum Rickaby, and a snack pack donated by Callum was won by Emily Caylor. A chocolate bunny from Frank Suennen went to Gwyn Pristel, kite from Kountry Kids 4H went to Rebekah Retza, and a stuffed bunny from the Rickaby's was won by Donald Jeske. A stuffed lamb from Joan Krukowski went to Callum Rickaby, Frisbee from Taylor Rickaby went to Rebekah Retza and LED wands were won by Prestin Brunette. Glow sticks and bubbles from Frank Suennen went to Donald Jeske. A stuffed bunny from Joan Krukowski was won by Rebekah Retza, candy from the Wagner Fire Department Cadets went to Rebekah Retza and Callum Rickaby. A thermos set from the Hemstock family went to Donald Jeske and an Easter basket from the Caylor family went to Callum Rickaby. 

Weekly prize winners included a basket of items donated by Kountry Kids 4H and Caylor family, won by tara Carnahan, glass etching kit won by Ken Limberg, perfume set from Heather and Olivia Schramm, won by Mike Caylor, Packer set from Kountry Kids 4H won by William Woodward, hot dish holder set from Linda LaRochelle, won by Emily Caylor, mittens from Lynda Caylor, won by Diane Dietrich, key hanger from Frank Suennen, won by Stacy Sturmer, screwdriver set from Frank Suennen, won by Heather Schramm. A rug from Kountry Kids 4H went to Emily Caylor, insulated mug went to Jennifer Fronsee, bathroom set from Frank Suennen went to Vicki Lempke, gift certificate from Sequin's Cheese went to Mary Ann Langill, a tie blanket from the Rickaby family went to Josh Brunette. A bird house from Mike Caylor went to Marlys Limberg. Starzer's brats, donated by the Retza family, went to Frank Suennen, Prestin Brunette and William Woodward, and a picture frame from Frank Suennen was won by Jennifer Fronsee.

Grand prize items were a $50 gas gift card from Biernasz Logging, won by Dan Buss. An Afghan from Linda Fronsee went to Jenssen Roberts, a scarf and mitten set from Caylors went to Arlene Eggener, a crystal baking dish was won by Ember Rickaby, Starzer ham, donated by Retza family went to Russ Walters, and My Pillow, donated by Doris Patterson was won by Ember Rickaby.  

Thanks to all who attended, worked or donated money and prizes, the youth groups were able to donate $1,413 to the Wagner Fire Department.
