Margaret Mary "Peg" (Reynolds) Neilio, 67, of Menominee, Mi., passed away Sunday, May 5, 2019 in Lehigh Acres, Fla., where she and her husband, Bill have their winter home, after a battle with cancer for almost two years.
Born July 1, 1951 in Long Island, N.Y., she was raised in Milwaukee where she grew up in a large family and graduated from Whitnall High School in 1969. She dabbled in college for a short time, where she met a best friend, Jean Grube. She then served in the United States Air Force during the Vietnam Era.
She married her husband Bill in December of 1974 and they lived in Milwaukee with their two children until moving to Greenfield Center, N.Y. where they raised their family for almost 20 years.
She worked in a many fields during her career, including as a company education and training manager at Quad/Graphics in Saratoga Springs, N.Y. In 2000, she earned a Bachelor's Degree from Charter Oak State College in Connecticut and shortly after pursued a new career at the University at Albany Economics Department.
They returned to Wisconsin for a short time before settling on the shore of Green Bay in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan where she worked for the Wisconsin Department of Corrections.
She loved music, traveling, walking, running, sailing on Lake Champlain during her time in NY, kayaking at her house on Green Bay, swimming, even when it was cold, camping, reading, gardening, quilting, yard work and raking the beach, but mostly adored her children and grandchildren. She completed two marathons, but preferred the 5Ks. She loved chick movies, bon fires, music playing in the house and playing Scrabble, but most of all loved to laugh and treated her friends like family.
She is survived by her husband of 44 years, Bill Neilio; a daughter, Sarah (Neilio) Francisco of Williston, Vermont; a son, Nick Neilio of South Korea; a son-in-law, Steve Francisco; two grandchildren; six siblings, Maureen Bakken (Bud), Bob Reynolds (Sandy), Eileen Reynolds, Kathleen Heming (Bruce), Brian "Rocky" Reynolds (Crisse), Tim Reynolds (Mary); six sisters- and brothers-in-law, Pat Reynolds, John Neilio (Mary), Pat and Judy Neilio, Jane Dantinne, Pete Neilio, Paul and Chris Neilio; nieces and nephews; dear friend, Jean Grube and many more friends.
Along with her parents, John and Marcella (Binder) Reynolds, she was preceded in death by a brother, Jack Reynolds.
With her life full of joy and happiness, per he request there will be no sad funeral or burial, but a celebration of a life well lived will take place at a future date to be announced. In lieu of flowers, please consider signing your organ donor card, giving the gift of life to others if need be. Donations to your local branch of the American Lung Association would also be appreciated toward fighting the battle for others.
