THE CITY REBORN FROM THE ASHES OF AMERICA'S MOST DISASTROUS FOREST FIRE
Crivitz Plans July 4th Parade, Music, Fireworks in Crivitz
Issue Date: June 6, 2019
The Crivitz July 4th celebration will begin with a flag raising ceremony at 10:45 am in front of the Village Hall. The Grace Lutheran Pioneers will raise the flag accompanied by Kit Cleereman, Dewey and Patrice Sessler, who will sing the National Anthem.
The American Legion parade will begin at 11 am sharp. The theme of the parade is 'Fly the Flag with Pride'. The parade route will start at Henriette Ave. and Hall Hay St. and make the customary loop around the downtown area ending at Henriette Ave. and Louisa St. A flea and farmers market will be held downtown all day with many vendors selling food, crafts and collectibles.
Parade entry forms may be obtained at the Crivitz Village Hall or Witt's Piggly Wiggly, or by contacting Bryon Boehmke at 715-927-1945. Lineup will start at 9 am at Henriette Ave. and Louisa St.
Immediately following the parade, festivities will begin at Crivitz Community Veteran's Park with a beer, wine and soda stand staffed by the Crivitz American Legion. The Crivitz VFW will be grilling tasty food and the Historical Society will sell popcorn. New this year, Mischief & Magic will be at the park from 1-5 pm making balloon animals and face painting, courtesy of the Crivitz Business Association. And be sure to come and soak a local celebrity or two in the dunk tank. DJ Gary Huebner of Audio Axentz will play tunes and entertain the crowd from 1 pm until 6 pm. Free bouncy houses will be available for the kiddies from noon until 8 pm and as always, Littleland Playground will provide hours of enjoyment for the little ones.
Bill Hill will take the stage with his band, Brass Differential, which is sponsored again this year by NewCare, Inc. They will play right up until the massive Witt's Piggly Wiggly fireworks display, which begins at 9:15 pm. The fireworks can easily be seen from the park and surrounding areas. Next time you stop at the Pig, be sure to thank those folks for their generous sponsorship of the fireworks each year.
Show your respect for our veterans and support their organizations by purchasing your refreshments from the beer, soda and food stands. They will put in a long day and will be open for your business at the park until the fireworks start at 9:45 pm.
The Village of Crivitz is definitely the place to be this July 4th.
