Gene S. Krause, 78, of Green Bay, formerly of Pound, passed away Thursday, May 30, 2019 at his home with family at his side.
Born Jan. 13, 1941, to the late Sylvester and Bernice (Brooks) Krause, he married the former Mary Westphal on July 29, 1961 at Hillside Assembly of God Church in Gillett.
He worked at Fort Howard Paper Company until retiring after 31 years. He enjoyed golfing, bowling, collecting coins and playing cards.
Surviving are his wife, Mary; two sons, David (Vicki) Krause and Ken (Jane) Krause; a daughter, Kathy Krause; six grandchildren; a great-granddaughter; a brother, Gerald (Pam) Krause; three sisters, Judy (John) Leslie, Joann (Randy) Dodd and Gloria (Claude) Keshemberg; a sister-in-law, Sharon Krause and many nieces; nephews; other relatives and friends.
Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Ronald Krause.
The family greeted relatives and friends at First Baptist Church in Pound on Tuesday, June 4 from 9 a.m. until time of the Funeral Service at 11 a.m. Pastor Jonnie Sharp officiated with burial in First Baptist Cemetery in Pound. Rhodes Charapata Funeral Home of Coleman assisted the family with arrangements. Rhodes Charapata Funeral Home assisted the family with arrangements.
