Richard "Dick" Ihde, 81, of Grover, passed away Wednesday, May 29, 2019.
Born Dec. 26, 1937, to the late Emil and Esther (Teske), he graduated from Peshtigo High School in 1954 and served in the United States Army. He then married his wife of 52 years, Nancy Goldsmith on July 22, 1961 and she preceded him in death on Oct 21, 2013. He farmed his whole life with his wife and also worked many years at Silvan Industries. He coached Little League baseball for County Line for 25 years and also coached softball and basketball for Saint Johns Church teams, where he was referred to by the kids as " Grandpa". A lifelong member of St. Johns Church, he served on the Church Council and was also an original member of the Grover Fire Department.
He is survived by three daughters, Jodi (Patrick) Mosuye of Green Bay, Sherri (Jeff) Haynes of Peshtigo and Holli Ihde of Grover; seven grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; sisters and brothers-in-law, Eunice Goldsmith, Eunice Schewe, Arthur Thurow and Lois (Jim) Polzin and a daughter-in-law, Darcie.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Nancy; a son, Chuck; a granddaughter, Erica and three sisters, Audrey (Leroy) Cisar, Joyce ( Robert) Deschaine and Donna Ihde.
The family received friends at St John's Lutheran Church in Grover on Saturday, June 1 from 10 a.m. until time of the service at 1 p.m., with Pastor Daniel Sargent officiating. Military rites were conducted at the Church, with burial in St. John's Church Cemetery. Berth and Rosenthal Funeral Home of Peshtigo assisted the family with arrangements.
