Scott R. Rupert, 64, of Marinette, passed away Saturday evening, July 13, 2019, as the result of a motorcycle accident.
Born June 26, 1955 in Marinette, to Samuel and Raeleen (Rothering) Rupert, the third of six children, he lived in the area most of his life and graduated from Marinette High School in 1974. He worked at Marinette Marine Corp. before joining the United States Navy and served for six years in two enlistments. He married the former Cynthia Olson in Marinette on April 1, 1983 and they had two daughters.
A longtime, current employee of Menominee Paper Co. (Dunn Paper, he was also self employed in his own business, Ground Hawg Stump Removal. In earlier years he also did roofing.
A hard worker and always on the move, he enjoyed being outdoors, deer hunting, attending concerts, riding his Harley and snowmobile, was known for his bonfires and along with Cindy he loved to making his salsa. They produced many quarts and were proud to share it. He always lent a helping hand, was an inspiration to many and was meticulous with his projects. He was a member of Pioneer Presbyterian Church.
Surviving are his wife, Cindy; two daughters Brooke (Phil) Graves and Cheyanne (Jim) Slepicka; three granddaughters; five siblings, Jeff (Rita) Rupert, Cindy Johnston, Mark Rupert (friend, Katy), Wendy Rupert and Keri Lemieux; his mother-in-law, Sandy Olson; brothers-in-law, Scott (Kathi), Kevin (friend, Tabs) and Joel Olson; his Godson, Kevin Rupert and many nieces; nephews and dear friends.
Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his father-in-law, Bruce Olson and a brother-in-law, Robert Johnston.
Friends may call at Hansen Onion Martell Funeral Home in Marinette from 2 p.m. until time of services at 6 p.m. on Thursday, July 18. Rev. Jon Nelson will officiate with a Military Honors Ceremony by the Military 20 Year Club. A Celebration of Life will be planned for a later date.
