Elizabeth Joyce Marie (Backman) Tickler, 90, of Menominee, Mi., passed away Monday, Aug. 5, 2019.
Born Feb. 7, 1929 in Stephenson, Mi., to the late Leonard Backman and the late Marie Sodergren, she graduated from Stephenson High School in May of 1946 and married Rupert Raymond Tickler on Dec. 28, 1946 at Precious Blood Church.
A member of Holy Redeemer Catholic Church, she enjoyed cooking, baking, crocheting, reading, canning and attending Senior Center lunches.
She is survived by three sons, Thomas (Mary), Don Michael (Jackie) and Raymond (Nancy) Tickler; a daughter-in-law, Michelle Tickler; 17 grandchildren; 15 great-children; two great-great-grandchildren; a sister, Marilyn LaCombe; a brother, Glen "Bud" (Marge) Backman and many nieces and nephews.
Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Rupert; a son, Richard; a daughter, Susan; a son-in-law, Warren; three brothers and three sisters.
Visitation will be held at Anderson Diehm Funeral Home in Stephenson on Friday, Aug. 9 from 4 p.m. until time of a Prayer Service at 7 p.m. Visitation will continue on Saturday, Aug. 10 at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church from 10 a.m. until time of a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. A luncheon will follow and burial will be in Birch Creek Cemetery.
