Carol Ann (Gray) Montour, 75, of Evansville, formerly of Suring, passed away Thursday, Aug. 8, 2019 with family by her side.
Born March 5, 1944, to the late Elvin and Mae (Potts) Gray in Pekin, Ill. from a family of nine siblings, she married Sylvester (Todd) Montour of Shawano County on Feb. 14, 1966. She worked at Metz Baking Co. until retiring at age 59 when they moved to the Suring area in 1996, after living in the Janesville or over 25 years.
She enjoyed being outdoors, working in her gardens, crafts, including crocheting, sewing and ceramics, but especially loved company, family gatherings and good conversation. She had a loving heart and offered help and support to many, putting aside her interests, for others.
Survivors include three children, Sheryl (Chris) Gorniak and Jeffrey (Renee Smith) Montour, both of Janesville and William (Denise) Montour of Philadelphia; two step-children, Beverly (Tim) Barr of Beloit and Michael (Sharon) Montour of Gillett; five siblings; 13 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren and many step-grandchildren and great-grandchildren; nieces; nephews; other relatives and friends.
Among her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Todd and three brothers, Charles Gray, Earl Gray and Gerald Gray.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, Aug. 13 at Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Suring from 9 a.m. until time of the funeral service at 10 a.m., with Pastor Bill Krauss officiating. Gruetzmacher Funeral Home of Suring assisted the family with arrangements.
