Gerald Powell Jr., 48, of Euless, Tx., formerly of Marinette, passed away Monday, Sept. 2 in Grapevine, Tx. after a long health battle.
Born Aug. 17, 1971, to Gerald and Glory Powell in Green Bay, the family moved to Marinette when he was three and he graduated from Marinette High School in 1988. He moved to Texas to be by family, where he met Kinitia Rinker and they married and had three children.
He loved children of all ages, was an avid reader and knew a lot about history, which he taught for a short time. In high school he was a defensive tackle and had a beautiful singing voice.
A member of the Glory Church in Hurst, Tx., he was a Christian and was always ready to share his faith.
Survivors include his wife, Kinitia Rinker Powell; three children, Brooke, Ezekiel and Lindsey Powell; his parents, Gerald and Glory Powell Sr. and a brother, Cameron (Patty) Powell, all formerly from Wisconsin and now living in Texas and many nieces; nephews; cousins and extended family.
His grandparents preceded him in death.
A Celebration of Life will be held at Glory Church in Hurst, Tx. on Sunday, Sept. 22 at 5 p.m., with Pastor Bill Earley officiating. Forest Ridge Funeral Home of Richland Hills, Tx, is assisting the family with arrangements.
