David Fox, 89, of Pembine, passed away Friday, Sept. 13, 2019 at Freeman's Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Kingsford, Mi.
Born May 20, 1930 in Shreveport, La., to the late Sam and Esther (Ablon) Fox, he served in the United States Air Force and married Eddie Lee Ortigo and she preceded him in death. He worked for Army and Air Force Exchange Services (AAFES) giving him the opportunity to live in many places in the world, until moving to Pembine in July 2018.
An avid baseball fan, he played in College and several leagues through the years. He loved the New York Yankees and Los Angeles Dodgers, was a history buff and loved to share stories with family, friends and strangers, but will be remembered for his sense of humor and practical jokes.
He is survived by a son, Paul (Brenda) Fox, Louisiana; a daughter, Charmaine (Randal) Fox-Fullmer, Pembine; two brothers, Jack (Judy) Fox, Austin, Tx. and Nathan (Margaret) Fox, Houston, Tx.; three sisters, Marlene Schlang, Texas, Jean Sax, Florida and Annette Boydston, California; four grandchildren and many great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents and his wife, Eddie Lee, he was preceded in death by a son, Gregory Fox and a brother, Bernard Fox.
Burial will take place in Montecito Memorial Park in California next to his wife, Eddie. Jacobs Funeral Home and Cremation Services of Iron Mountain is assisting the family.
