Jason E. Truitt
Issue Date: October 17, 2019
Jason E. Truitt, 38, of Wallace, Mi., passed away Thursday, Oct. 10, 2019.
Born Sept. 27, 1981 in Marinette, to Burt and Leanne (Sohr) Truitt, he graduated from Stephenson High School in 2000 and earned a Bachelor's Degree from Lake Superior State University. On Dec. 28, 2003, he married the former Jeriann Choate in Poplar. He was employed by the State of Michigan at J.W. Wells State Park for the past 13 years.
He loved playing basketball with his boys at the house, on Tuesday's at Central Baptist Church and on Saturday's and Wednesday's in Menominee/Marinette with his buddies. It was there, he could just be himself and his friends there knew him better than anyone else.
He enjoyed hunting and fishing with his boys in his recently purchased $500 boat he found on Craigslist. A certified drone pilot, he enjoyed flying the drone taking aerial photographs, was great at trouble shooting anything and if he didn't know how to do it, he still succeeded at fixing it.
Above all, he loved time at home with his wife and boys sitting and rocking in his rocking chair. He attended the Country Bible Church.
Survivors include his wife, Jeriann; three sons, Tyler, Ethan and Talin; his parents, Burt and Leanne Truitt; a sister, Clarice (Ryan) Lunzmann; two brothers, Zachary (Renee) Truitt and Kenneth (Kehaulani) Truitt; maternal grandmother, Edna Sohr; aunts; uncles; nieces; nephews and friends.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Sadie; paternal grandparents, Joseph F. and Bessie Truitt and maternal grandfather, Peter Sohr.
Family will receive friends at the Country Bible Church on Wednesday, Oct. 16, from 2 p.m. until time of a funeral service at 5 p.m., with Pastor David Buckley officiating. Anderson Diehm Funeral Home of Stephenson is assisting the family with arrangements. A memorial fund will be established and expressions of sympathy and kindness can be directed to Jeriann Truitt.
