New Eligibility Rules To Join Legion, Unit

Crivitz" The Crivitz American Legion Auxiliary meeting in October was called to order by President Marian Wankowski. Chaplain Helen Franzen lead us n prayer and observed a moment of silence for deceased members. The pledge of allegiance, Preamble to the Constitution and Mission Statement of the ALA were said. Five members attended.
Minutes of the September meeting were read and approved and statistics on Service to Veterans and their families were noted. Hours volunteered were 664,609, monies spent was $920,314 and veterans and family assisted were 98,943.
A new veteran adopted is Si Brault, who is at New Care.
Membership applications were distributed with changes for new members. Also info for member eligibility noting all women with a family member who served in the Armed Forces from WWII until the present are eligible to be a member of the Auxiliary and all spouses of a female veteran in the Legion are eligible to be a member of the Auxiliary. Also female veterans can be dual members, meaning they can belong to the Legion and the Auxiliary. Meetings are on the third Wednesday of each month at 7 PM at the club house. However there are no meetings in December, January and February.
Dues for 2020 are now payable. Currently half of members are paid. If the club reaches 100% Dec. 31st, they will be eligible for a $100 prize from the department. Send dues to Nora Swanson, N7488 Sikowski, Crivitz, or call national at 317-569-4500.
The distribution of the poppies fund was tabled until the November meeting because there were so few members present.
The Veterans Day Program will be at the High School on Monday, Nov. 11th with the POW/MIA table featured. Speaker will be grandson of Helen Franzen, Lt/Col Max Brosig. A chili lunch will be served after the program at the club house.
