Dama Crew Installs Furnace For Feel The Love Program
Issue Date: November 7, 2019
Once each year for the past decade selected Lennox dealers have installed a free furnace and/or HVAC system in the home of a deserving recipient in connection with the Lennox "Feel The Love" program. Recipients are chosen through a community nomination process, and are to be deserving individuals who have made it their mission to support their neighbors and always put others first.
One of the recipients this year is Bill Pratt of Crivitz, a veteran and retired DNR worker. Due to an infection that resulted in the loss of a leg, Pratt has been bedridden and has a full time care giver assisting him every day.
Mike Dama and employees of Dama Plumbing and Heating of Crivitz spent most of the the day on Saturday, Oct. 5 installing a brand new furnace donated by Lennox in Pratt's home.
"Bill can be at ease this winter knowing that his home now has a reliable heating system," Dama commented. He aded, "We've been part of this program with Lennox for over 10 years. We enjoy giving back to our community and supporting one another."
Lennox's "Feel the Love" program was previously known as "Heat Up Wisconsin." It began in with Wisconsin dealers in 2009 when Lennox donated one furnace, which was also for a veteran, and Wesley Heating donated the install.
In the words of one Lennox executive: "That install was a small start, but to the wounded veteran who felt the comfort of heat in his own home, there was nothing small about it." The program quickly expanded into every state and a number of Canadian provinces with nearly 400 dealers participating.
In 2018 recipients were selected from a list of 2,900 nominees and volunteer employees of Lennox dealers installed heating systems in 150 homes to keep deserving families warm all winter and for many winters to come. Number of Feel the Love nominees and installations for 2019 has not yet been tallied.
