Harold "Sonny" Bertrand, 97, of Menominee, Mi., passed away Tuesday, Nov. 12, 2019 at the Luther Home.
Born Jan. 25, 1922 in Menominee, to the late Wilfred and Rosella (Pichette) Bertrand, he married the former Mildred Schomer in Menominee on Jan. 23, 1943 and worked as a welder at Lloyd Manufacturing for many years.
He was forever going fishing, trying to catch the big one, singing to anyone at any time, whether on birthdays or to someone he knew. He was a master of building birdhouses and bird feeders and was a member of Resurrection Catholic Church.
Survivors include two children, Harold "Sonny" R. (Lynn) Bertrand of Appleton and Sharon (Jerry) Tranchida of Viera, Fla.; grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Mildred Bertrand.
Family will receive friends at Cadieu Funeral Home in Menominee on Saturday, Nov. 16 from noon until time of the funeral service at 1 p.m. Deacon Vince Beckley will officiate with burial in Riverside Cemetery in Menominee. Donations can be made to the Menominee County Sheriff Department Canine program.
