June B. (Polhemus) Luitze, 86, of Marinette, formerly of Pleasant Prairie, passed away Saturday, Jan. 25, 2020 at Rennes Health Care Center-West in Peshtigo.
Born Feb. 7, 1933 in Kenosha, to the late Paul and Bessie (Prikopia) Polhemus, she attended school in Kenosha. On Sept. 6, 1952, she married George W. Luitze in Kenosha and they raised nine children. He preceded her in death on Nov. 17, 1991.
Later in life, she moved from Pleasant Prairie to Marinette to be closer to family. She enjoyed cooking, bingo, reading and watching TV.
Survivors include eight children, Chris (Lori) Luitze, Denise (David) Woodstock, Annette (Jeff) Feivor, Vernon (Tammy) Luitze, Janet Duncan, Tina Becker, Jacque (Bonnie) Luitze and Louie (Carol) Luitze; 19 grandchildren; one special granddaughter who she had a special bond with; 14 great-grandchildren and a special neighbor, Timmy Soens.
Along with her husband she was preceded in death by a daughter, Mary Thompson; siblings, Helen Jackson, Roy Polhemus, Walter "Wally" Polhemus and Melvin Englisbe and a son-in-law, Joe Duncan.
Visitation was held at Bruch Funeral Home in Kenosha on Saturday, Feb. 1 from 10 a.m. until time of a Celebration of Life at 11 a.m., followed by inurnment at Sunset Ridge Memorial Park.
