William "Bill" Sobeski, the last of 11 children, passed away Thursday, Feb. 12, 2020 at home in Southlake, Tx.
Born June 12, 1929, to the late Joseph and Mary "Skovinski" Sobeski, he graduated from Menominee High School in 1947. He then worked at Cohoda Brothers Produce Co. in Menominee and served a tour of duty during the Korean War. After service, he attended Eastern Michigan College from 1953 to 1957. He then worked for AC Nielson Co. and lived in many states including New York, Florida and Texas.
He married his first Marie Derosa on Feb. 25, 1963 and she preceded him in death in 2015. They loved to travel. He married his second wife, Martha Espino in 2016.
He is survived by his wife, Martha; two step-daughters, Mary Lou and Maliya; a brother-in-law, Harold Larsen; a sister-in-law, Roberta Sobeski; many Sobeski nieces and nephews including his nephew, Dickie Menuier, who grew up with Bill and all the Sobeski children in the family home.
Besides his parents and his first wife, Marie, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Joseph "Sonny," Robert and Jimmy Sobeski; six sisters, Alice Mikolas, Elizabeth Phelps, Patricia Gusick, Nancy Larsen, Sally Walters and Janet Couillard.
