Robin Kristine (Becker) Dickson, 55, of Suring, passed away Wednesday, March 18, 2020, after a five year battle with cancer.
Born June 19, 1964 in Janesville, to Robert and Jackie Becker, she graduated from Janesville Craig High School in 1982 and received a B.S. Degree from UW-Whitewater and an M.S. degree from Marian College. She married Philip Dickson on Oct. 27, 1990 at Mount Olive Lutheran Church in Suring and they built their home on the old family homestead in the Town of How.
A teacher at Suring Public Schools, for 33 years, she taught the youth of the community, teaching middle school math, fourth grade and sixth grade. She also coached volleyball for several years and was a Superintendent in the area of clothing, knitting, crocheting and home environment at the Oconto County Youth Fair for many years.
She enjoyed sewing, quilting, fishing, traveling, shopping and shoes, of which she had 150 pair. She spent many weekends at quilting retreats with her mom Jackie, Carol and Jeanne. With her love of quilting, she shared the craft with her niece, McKenna and also created "theme" quilts for the Suring School for many years. She enjoyed playing Euchre, cribbage and family board games and spent time on many fishing trips with the family at Fred Thomas Resort in Birchwood.
She is survived by her husband of 29 years, Philip "Pork" Dickson; her father, Robert Becker of Janesville; siblings, Chad (Wendy) Becker of Stoughton, and Scott (Karen) Becker and Colleen Becker, both of Madison; nieces, McKenna, Morgan, Hannah (God-child), Lauren, Alex and Caroline; Uncle Bob and Janet Abelman; siblings-in-law, Allen (Gloria) Dickson of Suring, Gwen Uglinica of Coatesville, Pa., Cheryl (Richard) Gardebrecht of Suring and Jackie (Wally) Coghlan of Eagle River; special friends, Chris, Vicki and Connor Engebretsen, Carol Andrews and Wayne Wasmund and many other nieces; nephews; grand-nieces; grand-nephews; cousins; other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Jackie and in-laws, Harold and Florence Dickson.
A Celebration of Life will be held at Gruetzmacher Funeral Home in Suring at a later date to be determined. Service information will be announced by the funeral home as it becomes available.
