Elizabeth (Betty) J. (Prefontaine) Reiswitz, 90, of Marinette, passed away Monday, April 27, 2020.
Born Feb. 21, 1930, to the late Albert and Aurelia (Friend) Prefontaine, she married Benjamin E. Reiswitz on Jan. 31, 1948 and they enjoyed 50 years together until his passing on April 4, 1998.
After retiring, they wintered with their Wisconsin and Michigan friends in Alamo, Tx. for many years and were known to visit a casino or two. She will be remembered by family and friends for her kind and gentle nature, her apple slice, chocolate chip cookies, potato salad and baked beans. She was a member of Holy Family Parish.
Survivors include two sons, Daniel (Kathy) Reiswitz of Menominee and David (Margie) Reiswitz of Marinette; four grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; a brother, John Prefontaine of Sussex; a special nephew, Jack (Carol) Baxter and her Sunday morning Church and breakfast companions for many years.
In addition to her parents and husband, Benjamin, she was preceded in death by four sisters, Louella, Bernice, Agnes and Joyce; four brothers, Armedos (Sonny), Peter, Fred and James and a great-grandaughter Abby.
Due to social distancing, a private family service will be held. A Celebration of Life will be announced at a later date. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery in Menominee, Mi. Cadieu Funeral Home of Menominee is assisting the family with arrangements.
