Jan "John" Paul Zylkowski, 84, of Green Bay, passed away suddenly the morning of Friday, May 22, 2020 in Green Bay.
Born Sept. 4, 1935 in Neenah, the third of four sons, to Mary Lucille (Rutherford) and Joseph Francis Zylkowski, he grew up in Neenah and Chicago, Ill., often visiting family in Marinette and for the past many years, lived in Green Bay.
A life-long Packer fan and member of the Green Bay Polish Club, he will be missed by many in the community and nationwide. He brought humor and thoughtfulness, often in the form of pies, muffins and surprise visits into many people's lives. He was a rebel to the end and lived life his own way.
He is survived by a brother, Peter Carl Zylkowski; a daughter, Victoria (Zylkowski) Coleman and a son, Frank Zylkowski.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Francis and John Thaddeus Zylkowski.
A public viewing will be held at Thielen Funeral home in Marinette on Wednesday, May 27 from 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m., followed by a private family burial and Mass in Marinette. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
