THE CITY REBORN FROM THE ASHES OF AMERICA'S MOST DISASTROUS FOREST FIRE
Daniel L. Peters
Issue Date: June 10, 2020
Daniel L. Peters, 71, passed away Friday, June 5, 2020, at his home.
Born Dec. 19, 1948 in Green Bay, to the late Donald and Florence (Van Den Plas) Peters, he married Shirley Kmecheck on Sept. 30, 1978 and they were married for 41 years. He lived in Green Bay most of his life while working for the Village of Ashwaubenon Public Works Department.
After retirement, he moved up north to the Suring area where he loved to spend most of his time. He had many friends, to list them all wouldn't be possible as some would get missed. It was fun being around Dan and you didn't know him if you can't think about him and smile. He loved life to the fullest and his main passion in retirement was fishing. He always looked for a good deal and enjoyed playing cribbage and blaming his partner whenever they lost (31 for 2). One of a kind, he could dance to Johnny Cash and he will be missed. He lived for his family, friends and grandchildren and always made time for them.
Survivors include his wife, Shirley Peters; three children, Dawn (Dan) Gumieny, Dean Peters and Corey (Tiffany) Peters; two brothers, Mike Peters (Cindy Dahl) and Randy (Diane) Peters and twisted sister, Lori (Todd) Witthuhn; three grandchildren; brothers and sisters-in-law; many nieces and nephews and very special friends.
A Memorial Service will be held at Kuehl Funeral Home, 108 E. Main St. Gillett on Friday, June 12 from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date in summer. A memorial has been set up in his name.
