Issue Date: June 24, 2020
Eleanor (Lietzow) Raygo, 93, passed away Wednesday, June 17, 2020.
Born June 5, 1927 in Marinette, to Edward and Augusta Lietzow, she graduated from Marinette High School in 1945. She worked as a telephone operator before marrying her high school sweetheart, Alvin Raygo in 1947 and he preceded her in death in 1994.
She cherished the memories of the time they had together and they traveled extensively, making friends wherever they went. She enjoyed nature, dancing, reading and playing cards, especially winning at poker, but most importantly, she loved time with family, friends and her cat.
An active member of First Trinity Lutheran Church, her family would say she was the "glue" that kept them all together.
She is survived by three children, Steve (Marilyn) Raygo, Bonnie (Dave) Erickson and Debra (Michael) Harding; six grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Alvin in 1994.
A private service will be held to honor her life. Burial will be in Glenwood Memorial Gardens in Marinette. Hansen Onion Martell Funeral Home of Marinette is assisting the family.
