Patricia D. (Donovan) Couvillion, 89, of Peshtigo, passed away Tuesday, June 16, 2020 after a long battle with cancer and a neurological disorder.
Born Oct. 6, 1930 at Holy Family Hospital in Manitowoc, to the late Gerald and Esther (Braasch) Donovan, she attended high school in Manitowoc until her junior year, when she moved to Peshtigo and graduated from Peshtigo high School in 1948. On June 2, 1951, she married the love of her life, Robert (Cubby) Couvillion at St Mary's Catholic Church where she was a lifelong member.
Well known for her artistic talents in watercolor and acrylic paintings, she gave both private lessons and at the Technical School. Her paintings are hanging on many walls in northeastern Wisconsin.
She knitted quilts for her family and made sure her grandchildren had a pair of homemade mittens when they played at her house. From 1978-1984, she served as a special education teacher's assistant at Peshtigo High School.
She is survived by her husband of 69 years, Robert (Cubby); four children, David Couvillion of Darby, Mt., Suzy (Tony) Malson of Neenah, John (Tracy) Couvillion of Carlsbad Ca. and Cole (Sue) Couvillion of Wausaukee; 11 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Terrance and Gerald Donovan.
Visitation took place at St Mary's Church in Peshtigo on Friday, June 19 from 2 p.m. until time of a Mass of Christian Burial at 3 p.m. Fr. Jess Berdol and Fr. John Harper officiated with burial in Riverside Cemetery in Peshtigo. Berth and Rosenthal Funeral Home of Peshtigo assisted the family with arrangements.
