THE CITY REBORN FROM THE ASHES OF AMERICA'S MOST DISASTROUS FOREST FIRE
Donna R. Cherry
Issue Date: July 1, 2020
Donna R. (Ebsch) Cherry, 72, passed away Monday morning, June 22, 2020 after a courageous battle with cancer.
Born Feb. 27, 1948, to the late Henry and Thresa (Dietrich) Ebsch, she married Bob Cherry on Aug. 8, 1970 and they enjoyed almost 50 years together.
She lived and breathed for her family, was a faith-filled, strong woman who valued time spent together over material things and loved having her family together for dinner. Compassionate, she always put the needs of others ahead of her own and her door was always open to anyone in need of a meal, shoulder to cry on or place to stay.
Her grandchildren were the light of her life and she enjoyed watching them grow up and seeing them and having them close was a blessing. Even with many trials in her life, she never lost hope or her faith in Jesus Christ and showed courage, resilience and was an inspiration to those who knew her and will be missed.
She is survived by her husband, Bob; three daughters, Heather (Jon) Bakken, Heidi (Luis) Soto and Holly (Scott) Hartl; seven grandchildren; six siblings, Clayton (Carolyn) Ebsch, Joanne (Dennis) Palzewicz, Jeanette (Bill) Demille, Dale (Patricia) Ebsch, Steve (Sally) Ebsch and Roger Ebsch; two sisters-in-law, Carol Ebsch and Susan Cherry and many nieces; nephews; other relatives and special friends.
Including her parents, she was preceded in death by her father and mother-in-law, Earl and Mary Cherry; a grandson, Brady Hartl; a brother, Robert Ebsch and a nephew, Jason Demille.
Visitation was held at St. John Nepomucene Catholic Church in Little Chute on Tuesday, June 30 from 9 a.m. until time of the Funeral Mass at 11 a.m., with Fr. Ron Belitz officiating. Interment was in St. John Cemetery. A memorial was established in her name. Verkuilen Van Deurzen Funeral Home of Little Chute assisted the family with arrangements.
