Mary Ann (McGowan) Schultz, 64, of Marinette passed away Friday, July 10, 2020 at her home, surrounded by family after a 9-1/2 year courageous battle with carcinoid neuroendocrine cancer.
Born Dec. 27, 1955 in Menominee, Mi., to Thomas G. and Marlene (Lascelle) McGowan, she lived in Marinette all her life and graduated from Marinette Catholic Central High School in 1974. She worked for many years at Osco Drug and CVS Pharmacy, retiring in 2015.
She was a longtime Marinette Jaycees member and loved time with her family and even in her illness, always put her family ahead of herself.
Survivors include her husband, Sheldon and they recently celebrated their 45th wedding anniversary; a daughter, Sara Schultz Preston of Suamico; a son, Jason (Allison) Schultz of Marinette; two brothers, Rick (Pam) McGowan of Marinette and Mark (Suzanne) McGowan of Wales, United Kingdom; a brother-in-law, Shawn (Karen) Schultz of Marinette and special cousins; nieces; nephews and close friends.
Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Michael McGowan and in-laws, Robert and Carol Schultz.
Friends called at Hansen Onion Martell Funeral Home in Marinette on Tuesday, July 14 from 4 p.m. until time of Vigil Prayers at 7 p.m., led by Deacon Jerome Thetreau. A Funeral Mass was held at Holy Family, Our Lady of Lourdes Church, Taylor St. on Wednesday, July 15 at 11 a.m., with Fr. Celestine Byekwaso as celebrant. Burial was in Forest Home Cemetery. Memorial donations in her name can be made to the Neuroendocrine Tumor Research Foundation.
