Coleman School To Air Plans For Re-Opening

Plans for re-opening school for the 2020-2021 school year is just one item on a long agenda for the Coleman School Board meeting at 7 p.m. Monday, July 20.
District Superintendent and High School Principal Doug Polomis will also report on the senior exit survey, scholarship recognition video, graduation, and a legal conference for professional development, and report on progress of the referendum remodeling project at the high school.
There is to be discussion on academic standards for the coming school year, as well as possible modification of language in the Middle School handbook.
The board will be asked to approve the resignations of Keith Long as Assistant Varsity Football Coach and Mary Rosner as Special Education Aide and hiring of Mary Rosner as Grade 3 through 5 Special Education Teacher, Julie Pusick as mentor for Tess Rosner, and Jody Styczynski as a Volunteer Football Coach.
They also will act on tuition reimbursement for Mary Rosner for Special Education teacher licensure and Jacquelyn Shutte for Special Education Director licensure.
Approval is expected for 2020-2021 school year handbooks for professional staff, support staff, coaches and advisors, and Middle/High School, and for setting academic standards for the coming school year.
The board will be asked to postpone the Spanish Club Trip to Ecuador from summer of 2021 to summer of 2022, and to approve cancellation of this year's 6th grade Camp Bird and 8th grade trip to Washington D.C., and to accept a donation from DeWitt Enterprises for the Golf Team.
