Wolverines Face Off With Rangers For Baseball Win

Issue Date: July 22, 2020

Crivitz Beats Wausaukee

The Crivitz Wolverines baseball team secured a 6-2 win over the Wausaukee Rangers last week.

The win saw the Wolverines score three first inning runs to set the tone of the match. Kaiden Goltz started the inning off with a base after being struck by a pitch while Austin Burnside followed with a single. Cougar Wagner reached on a walk. All three runners made it home for the 3-0 lead.

Chad Schroeder made it a 4-0 game in the second with his score after an error at first.

Wausaukee's Hayden Renikow and Brunette both scored in the fifth to narrow the lead to 4-2 but fifth inning runs by Wagner and Werner helped to push the lead out of reach as the Crivitz defense dug in over the remaining two innings

Freedom Hands

Crivitz Loss

The Freedom Irish had the game in their hand for most of the going against Crivitz last week Friday, clipping the Wolverines with a 7-2 final readout.

The Irish got things going in the first inning with a single from Carter Kriewaldt who would later score in the inning.

The third saw two more Irish runs with Kriewaldt and Jaden Behnke both crossing the plate for the 3-0 lead.

Freedom's biggest inning of the night came in the fourth when four runs crossed the plate for their 7 run final readout.

The Wolverines did put together a late game surge, getting two runs across in the seventh.

During that seventh Austin Burnside whacked a triple before stealing home. Jaden Werner followed with a double which he later scored on for the only two Crivitz runs of the night.

Wolverines Get Win Over St. Mary's Catholic

The Crivitz Wolverines shut out the St. Mary's Catholic boys from Menasha Saturday afternoon by slugging their way to a whopping 13-0 lead.

Crivitz started early with two runs during the first off base line trips from Jaden Werner and Kougar Wagner .

The second inning saw Alec Grandaw post a run after hitting a single along with Chad Schroeder who also scored after a single. Jacob Hansen crossed the plate along with Austin Burnside who also reached on a single for the 6-0 second frame lead.

During the fourth Kaden Goltz, Austin burnside, Jaden Werner, Cougar Wagner and another Wolverines runner all scored to help bring the lead to 11-0.

Burnside scored the 12th run of the night during the fifth inning while Goltz posted the games last run of the night in Crivitz's half of the seventh.

Red Wave Take Split in Double Header Against Bark River

The Menominee Red Wave split a double header with the hosting Bark-River Bucs last week, losing game one 8-6 before a comeback to win the second game 10-6.

The first game saw the Red Wave build a nice lead early on as the scoreboard read 6-0 in favor of Menominee in the third inning. But then the Bark River boys put together a strong rally scoring two in the third, one in the fourth and five in the fifth to take the 8-6 win.

Game two saw Menominee flip the script on Bark River with a big inning of their own, scoring seven runs in the fourth innings for an 8-0 lead.

Menominee managed two more runs over the next three inning while Bark River nearly pulled in the gap with a six run effort.

Menominee Falls to Petosky AA, Beats Petosky A

The Menominee Red Wave had a twin bill day in Gladstone where they faced off against two Petosky teams, the AA and A teams.

Menominee was put down by Petosky AA 4-2 in extra innings match up while defeating Petosky A 9-2.

During the first inning against the AA's Menominee got things rolling with a Keagan Monroe score off an Andrew Schroeder double.During the second inning Buddy Beyer scored when Monroe drew a bases loaded walk helping to bring the game to a 2-2 tie.

But a couple more AA runs before the end and some good pitching from the AA mound left Menominee two runs short of the lead.

During the match up with the A's Menominee was pretty silent till the fifth inning when they smashed the scoreless game open with a handful of runs. eventually budding a 7-0 lead before the final inning.

Menominee Gets Big Win Over Escanaba

The Menominee Red Wave had very little troubles handling the Escanaba Eskimos last Tuesday night as they slammed the Escanaba boys with a 11-1 win.

Andrew Schroeder opened the game with a single before scoring the games first run. But Escanaba answered the one run top of the inning with a run from Tyler Lawson to keep it close at 1-1.

The second inning saw Menominee pile on three runs. One each from Jimmy Codlin, Hunter Goldschmidt and another from Schroeder.

The game breaker occurred in the third for Menominee where seven runs crossed the plate giving them the 11-1 lead. Escanaba was unable to make any ground from that point as Menominee walked away with the win.

Crivitz Defeats Bonduel

The Crivitz Wolverines defeated the Bonduel Bears Tuesday night by way of a 5-2 final verdict.

Bonduel was first on the boarding this one with one run in the fist inning.

The third saw the Wolverines recover as three runs crossed home for the lead. Chad Schroeder, Sean Christiansen and Jaden Werner were the base runners who pushed the lead to three.

During the sixth the Wolverines made up everything they needed for the win as Werner and Cougar Wagner crossed home for the 5-2 lead.
