John R. Menza, 66, of Daggett, Mi., passed away Wednesday, July 15, 2020 at Roubal Care and Rehab Center in Stephenson, Mi.
Born April 24, 1954 in Daggett, Mi., to the late Walter and Lillian (Anderla) Menza, he farmed with his family for many years and also worked at the Men-O-Mee Activity Center in Hermansville and Goodwill Work Center in Carney for many years until retiring in 2008.
Active in the Special Olympics, where he won medals, he enjoyed Miller 64 time, a good walleye fish fry, hunting, going to camp, playing cards, watching the Green Bay Packers and riding ATV's.
He was proud to achieve his life goal of going to Mount Rushmore in 2006. He was a member of Precious Blood Catholic Church where he enjoyed going to Mass.
Survivors include sisters, Marie Menza of Marinette, Karen Menza of Menominee, Mi. and June (Jim) Manning of Wallace, Mi.; a brother Richard Menza of Daggett, Mi.; a niece, Jill (Jason) Kakuk; two nephews, Eric (Kelly) Menza and Aaron (Steve) Menza and great-nieces and nephews, Lilliana, Soren, Hayden and Quinn.
Among his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Tom Menza.
Visitation will be held at Anderson Diehm Funeral Home on Tuesday, July 21 from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m., followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at Precious Blood Catholic Church at 11 a.m. Fr.
