THE CITY REBORN FROM THE ASHES OF AMERICA'S MOST DISASTROUS FOREST FIRE
SC Fire & Rescue Booyah Sale Aug. 8
Issue Date: July 22, 2020
The Silver Cliff Fire and Rescue Auxiliary met with social distancing in place, on June 8 and July 13 at the town hall at 9 AM. Pledge of Allegiance was said, roll call taken, secretary's report read and accepted, treasurer's report with balance in savings and checking were noted. Shirts and Things have sold a large amount of can coolers for a total of $160 to date.
Thank You letters were sent to all businesses and individuals that paid for ads in the Peshtigo Times last year, in response the Auxiliary has received many generous donations. Local individuals and businesses have donated a total of $2,870 to the auxiliary. They will be placing the same ad in the Times the first week of August with "Thank you for your generosity" heading. The auxiliary supports the fire and rescue squad annually after they have paid functioning expenses.
They approved to have three sign frames constructed out of aluminum in preparation for next year's picnic.
Raffle tickets for the booze cooler and money raffle have been selling very well at the Red Pine on Saturday's. Sales at local businesses have been successful and they hope that continues. A Booze Cooler is at The Rustic, a booze basket is located at Rapids, and a cooler is usually on display at the Red Pine, weather permitting. Thank you to Bruce Weber, for the construction of the booze coolers. Members have signed up to sell tickets at the park on Aug. 8, for the fire department booyah sale from noon to 5 PM. Ticket drawing will be on Aug. 8th at the picnic grounds at 5 PM.
The Silver Cliff Fire & Rescue By-Laws have been reviewed by chair Barb Van Boxtel and member Mary Wagner. The changes/edits will be shared at the next meeting.
The Children's Christmas Party was discussed, they will wait to see how "Covid" is impacting the community regarding an actual party. They will give gifts to area children 10 years and younger no matter the circumstances.
Thank you to members who provided desserts at the two meetings.
The next meeting is Aug. 3 at the town hall at 9 AM.
Members bring ticket money and tickets to Aug. 3 meeting. Pick up money and tickets from businesses by Aug. 6.
