ALA In the Know Committee Cancelled Due to Covid-19

Crivitz"The Crivitz American Legion Auxiliary July meeting was called to order by President Marian Wankowski, Chaplain Helen Franzen lead the prayer. A moment of silence was observed for the deceased. The Pledge of Allegiance, Preamble to the Constitution and Mission Statement of the ALA were said. Five members were present.
The minutes of the June meeting were read and approved with one correction. It was presented and approved to send a $20 gift certificate to their adopted veteran at New Care.
In Membership, it was reported that membership dues for 2021 will be accepted starting Aug. 1. Each year the Auxiliary has the opportunity to win $100 for their unit if they have 100% of the members paid by Veterans Day. The Bakeless bake sale is falling a little behind last year, but persons can still send money in at any time.
In Correspondence, they received a letter of thanks from Legion PTSD committee for the Auxiliary donation.
News from department included, after lengthy consideration and discussion with the ALA in the Know Committee and presenters, it was decided that the 2020 In the Know Conferences should be cancelled this fall for the health and safety of members. Department is looking into the possibility of offering an ALA in the Know session at the American Legion's Midwinter Conference in January at Ho-Chunk. More information to follow. A few department year end reports were read. Also monthly mailings are now going to bi- monthly mailing.
They received a $250 check from Crivitz Area Women's Club to send an additional girl to Badger Girl State next year.
Normally Aug. 19th is the next meeting but there will be an open house with the American Legion at 5 pm instead. The Legion is furnishing the brats and burgers, the Auxiliary the side dishes. All Auxiliary and Legion members are welcome. 50-50 was won by Helen Franzen and returned to the treasury.
