Albert V. Gerber, 93, of Menominee, Mi., passed away Monday, Nov. 23, 2020 at Aurora Medical Center, Bay Area in Marinette.
Born Aug. 8, 1927 in Menominee, to the late Alfred and Julia (Jensen) Gerber, he served in the United States Navy and after service, he attended the Michigan State Trooper Police Academy. On Oct. 21, 1951, he married the former Theresa Gillis in Jackson, Mi. and she preceded him in death on Sept. 21, 2000. He worked as a Michigan State Trooper for 25 years and later drove school bus for the Gladstone School District for 15 years.
He was active in scouting, attaining his Eagle Scout in 1945 and was later awarded the Order of the Axe, Order of the Arrow and Silver Beaver awards. He loved playing cards and watching the Green Bay Packers and Wisconsin Badgers. Devoted to his family, he was always willing to lend a hand to anyone in need.
Survivors include a daughter, Marie (Joe) Joran of Apple Valley, Mn.; a son, Don Gerber of St. Peter, Mn.; two grandsons; three great-grandchildren; a step-grandson and many nieces and nephews in the United States and Canada.
Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Theresa; a son, Neil (Brenda) and three brothers, William, Donald and Nalbert.
Due to the current pandemic, no services will be held at this time. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery in Menominee. Cadieu Funeral Home of Menominee is assisting the family.
