John Daniel Long, 65, of Marinette, passed away Thursday, Nov. 19, 2020 of natural causes.
Born Nov. 26, 1954 in Menominee, Mi., to Edward and Emma (Rakers) Long, he worked in construction and in the woods for many years and also worked for Loon Lake Reality clearing property lines.
He enjoyed hunting, the outdoors, loved animals, especially his cats and treasured time at the hunting cabin.
He is survived by longtime companion, Charlotte LaCasse; three sons, Jesse (Amy), Jason (Juvy Strojny) and Joey Long; two daughters, Roxanne (Buddy) Douglas and Anna Glidewell Manu; eight grandchildren; nine siblings, Greg (Linda) Long, Rita (Steve) Renikow, Ginny (Greg) Polomis, Eunice (Jim) Puetzer, Marilynn (Paul) Schneider, Keith, Annette (Tom) Pennington, Charlene Long and Karen (Mike) Finger and many nieces; nephews; great-nieces and great-nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father, Edward and his mother, Emma (Rakers) Long.
A private gathering will be held on a later date. Hansen Onion Martell Funeral Home of Marinette is assisting the family.
