
Raymond M. LipovacIssue Date: December 2, 2020 Raymond Michael Lipovac, age 90, passed away Nov 13, 2020 at Aurora Medical Center, Bay Area in Marinette, WI.
Born March 22, 1930, he grew up on a farm outside of Crivitz. He attended one room schools in the Crivitz area and graduated with the Crivitz High School Class of 1947. A graduate of UW Plateville with a degree in Agriculture, he also has a Master's in Education from UW Madison. His primary occupation was in education. He taught in various high schools around Wisconsin including Pembine, Cashton where he taught agriculture to World War II veterans and three schools in Milwaukee. He was High School Principal in Warren, IL.
Ray met and married Agatha Jakubowsky in La Crosse, WI. While raising their 5 children they lived in Warren, IL and Herscher, IL before moving back to the family dairy farm in Crivitz, WI. He was active in multiple professional organizations, often as an elected officer. It was important to him to participate in groups that involved his children and that included both 4-H and Cub Scouts. In fact, if there was no Scout troop in the community, he would start one and was Cub Scoutmaster for each of his 3 sons.
While in Illinois, he was a Lions Club Member, a Religious Education teacher, a Eucharistic Minister and Lector within the Church. In Wisconsin he was an officer with The Catholic Order of Foresters and served as a State Court Trustee. For the past nine years, he has been a volunteer with the St. Vincent de Paul Society. His most special work was as Church lector, from Vatican II until recently. Reading scripture at Mass was a privilege to him.
Raymond is survived by Agatha, his wife of 59 years; His children, Kathleen (Bruce) Schmitz, Elmwood Park, IL, Marguerite (David) Mastalir, Kewaunee, WI, Gregory Lipovac, Green Bay, WI and Bruce Lipovac, Crivitz, WI and his 3 grandchildren, Samantha Schmitz and Benjamin and Matthew Mastalir.
He was predeceased by his son, Michael Lipovac.
Family will greet relatives and friends Saturday, November 28 at St. Mary's Church in Crivitz from 9 am until time of the Funeral at 11 a.m. with Rev. Fredrick Sserugga officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. Vincent de Paul Conference of Crivitz, P.O. Box 159, Crivitz, 54114 or the Multiple Sclerosis Society.
