Dean L. Gerue, 88 of Stephenson, Mi., passed away Thursday, Nov. 26, 2020 at Roubal Care and Rehab Center.
Born Feb. 10, 1932, to the late Sarah Gerue in Wauwatosa, he married the former Caroline Carron on Oct. 1, 1955, in Menominee, Mi. and she preceded him in death on Feb. 14, 2010. He worked as a truck driver for Anderson Milk Transit for 22 years and was also a self employed logger, a job he loved. He enjoyed being in the woods.
He enjoyed one armed dances with his wife, going to auctions with Berwyn, fishing, helping others, feeding his birds and gardening, but mostly, time with his family is what he liked most.
Survivors include two daughters, Gail (Dan Nash) Damaschke of Carney, Mi. and Cathy Gerue of Green Bay; a son, Troy (Jennifer) Gerue of Middle Inlet; six grandchildren; five great-grandsons and a friend and neighbor, Shelby Jardeen.
Along with his mother, he was preceded in death by his wife, Caroline; a sister; a brother and his best friend, Berwyn Curtice.
A private visitation and funeral service was held at Anderson Diehm Funeral Home in Stephenson. The graveside service was held in Mellen Township Cemetery on Tuesday Dec. 1 at 2:15 p.m. with Rev. Brenda Greenwald presiding.
