THE CITY REBORN FROM THE ASHES OF AMERICA'S MOST DISASTROUS FOREST FIRE
Al Chaltry and Irene Chaltry
Issue Date: December 2, 2020
Al Chaltry, age 84, passed away Wednesday, November 11, 2020. Born June 20, 1936 to Alfred and Bernice (Dellies) Chaltry in Stephenson, MI.
Irene Chaltry, age 86, passed away Sunday, November 22, 2020. Born December 25, 1933 to Emil and Cora (Delo) Hafeman in Wallace, MI.
Al and Irene both graduated from Stephenson High School. They were married June 25, 1955 at Precious Blood Catholic Church in Stephenson.
Although Al was known as a builder and cabinet maker and Irene as a great cook and baker, they will be most remembered as owners and operators of Al's Aberdeen Bar in Menominee for over 10 years where they made many lifelong friends.
During their retirement years, they were fortunate to spend 17 winters as snow birds in Arizona. Al and Irene were married 65 years and it is only fitting they moved on to their next life together.
Survivors include their children: Cindy (Keith) Kovar, Gary (Barbara) Chaltry and Connie (Larry) Woodke. They are further survived by their grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Al and Irene were preceded in death by their daughter-in-law: Tina; parents; siblings and their spouses.
The family would like to thank all those who have offered kind words and have kept us in their thoughts and prayers. The family is also forever grateful for the patient, compassionate care Al and Irene received this past year from Dawn, Cindy, Melissa, Morgan, Mike and all the staff at Rennes Health Care Center East. The staff at Rennes East truly does God's work. We would also like to thank the staff at Aurora Medical Center, Bay Area and Anderson Kell Funeral Home for their assistance.
No services will be held at this time. Anderson Kell Funeral Home of Menominee, Mi. is assisting the family with arrangements.
