Jerome "Jerry" C. Camps, 72, of Marinette passed away Tuesday, Nov. 24, 2020 at home.
Born Jan. 2, 1948 in Menominee, Mi., to the late Francis and Marion (Gokey) Camps, he graduated from Marinette High School in 1967 and earned a certification in Mechanics from NWTC. He served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War and worked in the automotive repair industry until starting his own business, Prestige Auto Body in 1984, until retiring in 2013. On April 21, 1979, he married Cheryl Lemmens at Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Menominee.
He enjoyed hunting, fishing, ice fishing, time at the cabin and his dogs, but especially loved time with family, especially his grandchildren. He was a member of Emmanuel Lutheran Church.
Survivors include his wife of 40 years, Cheryl; three children, Cory (Debra) Camps of Oconto, Lori (Tony) Dura of Marinette and Jeremy (Brianna) Camps of Peshtigo; two brothers, Gary (Karen) Camps and Francis (Nancy) Camps, both of Marinette; 11 grandchildren and a great-grandson.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Scott Camps.
Private family services will be held. A Public Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. Entombment will be in Forest Home Mausoleum in Marinette. Thielen Funeral Home of Marinette is assisting the family with arrangements.
