
Dr. Burke A. RobinetteIssue Date: January 6, 2021 Dr. Burke Allan Robinette, 92, passed away Wednesday, Dec. 30, 2020.
Born Aug. 5, 1928 in Grand Rapids, Mi., to Edward and Pauline (Schaefer) Robinette, he graduated from Michigan State University in 1950 with a degree of Doctor of Veterinary Medicine at age 21. He practiced veterinary medicine in the Coleman and Lena area for 42 years. He married Helen Bowman in Grand Rapids, Mi. on July 30, 1955 and they were together over 65 years and enjoyed a good life, with their families and friends never far away.
A devoted, loving husband, father, and "Pa" to his grandchildren, he loved to travel, tell stories and collect antiques. He and his wife visited many countries on six continents and enjoyed 27 winters at South Padre Island, Tx. They moved to Green Bay in 2013 after 57 years in the same house in Coleman.
He held many positions in organizations he was involved in including the United Methodist Church at Lena and Oconto Falls, Coleman Businessmen's Association, Coleman Pound Lions Club, Wisconsin Veterinary Medical Association and American Veterinary Medical Association. He joined the Masonic Order in 1956 at Oconto Falls and later transferred membership to Washington Lodge #0021 in Green Bay. He also belonged to the Scottish Rite Bodies in the Valley of Green Bay, was a charter member of Beja Shriners of Green Bay and a member of the Royal Order of Jesters Upper Peninsula Court #180.
He is survived by his wife, Helen; three daughters, Susan (Mark) Schaenzer, Janet (Joseph) Leuman and Barbara (Jeffrey) Lauscher; seven grandchildren; a great-granddaughter; a sister, Janet Bennet; his in-laws, June (Bowman) and Charley Stokoe, Ethel Bowman, Michael Bowman and Galen Bowman and nieces and nephews.
Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, James Robinette; a sister-in-law, Bethel Robinette and brothers-in-law, Richard Bennett, Austin Bowman and Walter Bowman.
A private service will be held with Rev. Myron Christensen officiating. Interment will be at the Masonic Section of Fort Howard Memorial Park in Green Bay. Memorial donations can be made to Shriners Hospitals for Children. Expressions of sympathy, memories and photos can be made at www.lyndahl.com
