Eric Otto Richter, 89, of Crivitz, (Crooked Lake), formerly of Neenah, passed away at Rennes Health Care Center, East in Peshtigo after a long illness.
Born May 22, 1931 in Rhinelander, to Bertha and Otto Richter, he attended East Green Bay High School and graduated from East DePere High School in 1949. He served in the United States Marines from October 1949 until being discharged in 1953. He then attended Oshkosh State College.
He married Joan Marie Routhieaux on June 15, 1955 at First Methodist Church in Green Bay and worked in the Financial Department of Kimberly Clark Corporation in Neenah from 1956 until retiring in 1987. After retirement, he worked seven years teaching Outdoor Environmental Education at Green Bay YMCA Camp U-Nah-LI-YA.
The couple retired in the Crooked Lake area west of Crivitz in 1990 and their son, Robert Richter also joined them. For 48 summers, they enjoyed perch and salmon fishing along the Les Cheneaux Islands in Cedarville, Mi. An avid postal stamp collector, he was also a longtime member of the Northwoods Philatellic Society of Iron Mountain, Mi.
Survivors include his wife of 65 years, Joan; two sons, Robert of Crivitz and Kenneth (Sue) Richter of Neenah; two granddaughters and a sister, Andrea Parsons of Breckenridge, Tn.
Including his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Susan Marie Owens and a brother, Edwin Richter.
Per his wishes, no service will be held. Roubal Funeral Home and Cremation Services of Wausaukee is assisting the family.
