VFW Members Distribute Christmas Food Baskets
Issue Date: January 6, 2021
Crivitz VFW Memorial Post 2063 continued its tradition of distributing Christmas food gift baskets to homebound veterans. Bryon Boehmke, chairman of the committee, says, "It's always difficult for our fellow veterans to be unable to get out of the house as they did when they were younger. But it's especially tough this year when families are limiting their Christmas gatherings due to the coronavirus". He went on to say, "This is one way we can show our appreciation to the men and women of our community for their service to our country".
Twenty-four baskets were on Tuesday, Dec. 15, with 18 baskets going to veterans in the Marinette, Coleman, Pound, Goodman, Athelstane, and Crivitz. The remaining six baskets went to veterans who are residents of the NewCare Convalescent Center in Crivitz. The baskets were purchased from Witt's Piggly Wiggly in Crivitz.
